The Wayside: Home of Authors
More than three centuries have passed, and the families who lived at The Wayside have seen and shaped the history of Concord and the United States. Muster master for Concord's minute men and Provincial Congress delegate Samuel Whitney lived at the Wayside in 1775. Margaret Sidney (Harriet Lothrop) Sidney, Louisa May Alcott, and Nathaniel Hawthorne all called this beautiful 19th century home their own. We appreciate the opportunity to help return this historical landmark to its former glory.
